I didn't give myself the proper downtime to reflect before jumping onto another project- so this is a bit delayed. A couple weeks ago, we wrapped on All Sorts, my first feature film as a Co-Producer. I am still trying to formulate the right words to express my gratitude for the experience and the emotional poignancy that it had for me, but Rick Castañeda, thank you for inviting me along on this adventure! It was an honor to work with such a creative human who inspires me & to be able to film in a place that was my home for a very significant part of my youth and young adulthood. I never, in a million years, would have thought that I'd be making a movie in my old middle school gym or filming "school" scenes where my mom's old office was, or even just working with my family on a film - that never happens!!!
Thank you for granting me the opportunity to rise to daily challenges and work in partnership with our Producers, Omar Kenawi- who taught me the ins and outs of the casting process, and Laura Reich- who taught me the importance of rolling with the punches, standing your ground, and being able to dance it out after a long day! I loved our team and the extremely talented crew that we put together from Seattle/LA/Yakima. Being a part of a project that got the community excited and involved warmed my heart. Everyone worked so hard to make this story come together in the most fantastic way; it was brilliant <3
